I played the 9 hole course before, back in 2000.

From your report, I guess it was a *@!#&*)@ golf course then and still a $#(^!)#*)R%* golf course now.

Just came back from a cousins trip to Fraser's Hill last weekend. Hahhaha it was a crazy day at the course. We were five people in one flight, and the lady didn't really care. As for the course, my golf clubs have never been dirtier. We even had the pleasure of a group of a hundred students watching us tee off the 4th hole since they were in town for a sort of treasure hunt thing. Talk about a gallery!!

Despite rather bad course conditions it was still enjoyable since the company was great. The weather was brilliant! Managed a couple pars as well, so that was very rewarding on such a dodgy course.

Hi Gilagolfer,

Great article. I came across your blog prior to my trip so it helped to temper my expectations.

Despite everything, it is nice playing golf in cool weather. As I'm not going to play a round in Augusta anytime soon (not in the life time anyway), this is the closest I'll come to pine trees lining the fairway.

Wrt to hole #8, I managed to put it on by hitting a tree trunk on the right side of the green and landing it 10 feet from the cup.

Lucky thing I came across your blog. Was planning a trip with golf buddy to Frasers this coming Dec. but after reading your article which I found really good & humorous, I decided to call it off. My wife who was a golfer also enjoyed your humorous article which I also passed on to some golf buddies. Keep it up!

Ah! The rantings and ravings of an angry golfer gone crazy. I played here before the 18 hole course was built and also played the 18 hole course when it was completed. Man it was dangerous. The blue tee boxes were so elevated that it took the buggy so many turns to climb up. And because of the weather, the buggy tracks were very damp, a sudden stab at the brakes whilst coming down could cause the buggy to skid. And like all buddy tracks, this one was quite narrow. Hence you are staring down the side of the precipice. But the course was picturesque, hugging the sides of the mountain range. If my memory serves me right, the first nine required shots to fade and the homeward nine, required shot to draw. But this I remembered clearly, the tudor style clubhouse had only lukewarm showers.
But I digress, back to Fraser's Hill GC - it can't be that bad. I had fond memories when I last played here in the mid nineties but then again everything through rose tinted memories is filtered just like your schooldays - you only remember the good not the bad.
