Played there on weekend and found the fairways to be ok main problem was with back 9 greens having repaired/maintained so should be ok again in a few weeks.

Rough is unforgiving as ball sits down and have to get it right to get it out … almost better just to chip back on the fairway and go at green from there. (hate losing the shot though).

If you dont try and smash your drives and instead keep them on the fairway (stating the obvious) it is a fun course and I will probably head back.

Just go back for K.L. It my first time trying the course i find it quite a challenge.The Menteri and the President Course just said that one day i must play that again.They a famous word of wisdom.”I BEEN BACK” hahaha

It is the only public course in the country. Maybe you can try walking into the pro shop and see if they can can make your day a little better. Try-vertising! , the one and only on course club testing facility in this part of the world.

SS is actually my fave course – cheap at rm 80 inclusive of a bkf voucher for morning t offs. Monday and Friday mornings have discounts for ladies and oldies. I dun know about afternoon t offs, but for morning t offs, caddies are not compulsory. Apart from its obvious proximity to PJ golfers, SS levels the playing ground between long hitters and short hitters. Course management is essential. Calculated shots are amply rewarded.

BTW, SS is not the place to blood beginners. They will be so traumatized, they will never take up golf.

Yeah, a club like Seri Selangor or Bukit Jalil will dismantle one’s manhood if he’s a beginner. The safest bet is to bring beginner to either Bandar Utama 9 hole (and suffer but at least you’re not assaulted by back flight) or the pitch and putt in Jelutong.

I once took a total beginner to Seri Selangor (out of convenience of distance of course), he had such a bad experience in the golf course (for the very first time), being chased by flights behind, losing balls, digging up the fairways…… He has never touched a golf club ever again……

Your discription is most similiar for what i encountered, one of the worst public courses i had ever visited.
